Music video playlist - Spring 2025
I decided to make a playlist with nine videos that I have come across in the last couple of months. Enjoy!

Sunday,June interview
Sunday,June was originally the solo project from Mario Peiró Espí who recorded a few home studio demos. Encouraged to go further with the project, he went on to recruit a band to bring his musical vision to life.
The end result would be the fantastic album, Sun Glitter and Other Reflections, which I have been listening to a lot lately and most likely a lot more with the summer months. It has gone on to gain a lot of well-deserved recognition over the last few months with a lot of radio airplay, the single, Summer Without You, being nominated for the m4m Demotape Clinic and three record release concerts.
In this article, I get to find out more about this exciting project.

Bands without guitars
When thinking about instruments in rock music, we often automatically associate the guitar as an essential part of a band’s sound. What happens if the guitar is taken out of the tried and tested formula?
There are exceptions and over the past few months I have noticed that this is also the case across Switzerland. In this article, I have chosen five bands who make great rock music without any guitars being involved. Or at least not featured predominantly in their sound.

The Post-Rock Scene in Switzerland: Lost In A Detail and their Love for Atmospheric Worlds
For this article, Reverb Dream is collaborating with the Zurich-based post-rock band, Lost in a Detail, who will be releasing their upcoming album, Eyes On The Stars, Feet On The Ground, on Friday 11th April.
We find out about the band’s history as well as their insight into the post-rock scene in Switzerland and in Europe. They have also provided us with a list of their favourite venues and also six albums from Swiss post-rock bands to check out.

Interview with Mord Fuzztang
As I was still getting to know the music scene in Switzerland in 2022, I was in attendance for the Mord Fuzztang concert (organised by Kombinat) at Club Variété in Zurich and was instantly a big fan of their style, mixing krautrock and psychedelic rock, and their live performance.
After having released their first EP, Live at G5, the band would go on to put out their first album, Air Gélatine, in November of last year. The album, which was produced by Remo Agovic, is not only a solid album from start to finish but would also go on to win the gds.fm jury prize for album of 2024.
In this interview, Mord Fuzztang replies to my questions about how the album was made and their reaction to winning the award.

Interview with Doom! Noo Yelbek
In January 2025, Doom! Noo Yelbek released their second EP, The Burden Left by The Seven Snakes, and celebrated its release at Pont-Rouge in Monthey.
The band draws upon a wide range of musical influences (and the absurd) to create their own unique neo-psychedelic style of music.
In this interview, David Roussel, one of the band’s two guitarists tells us about the band’s history including a record release party in a humid cellar where the audience couldn’t open the noisy door and the filming of the music video of one of my favourite songs over the last few months, Kilimanjaro.

Interview with Kombinat
The fourth annual Kombinat Festival takes place this weekend on Saturday 15th March with 18 bands from across Switzerland performing at six different venues on and around the Langstrasse in Zurich. It is definitely one of my highlights of the year!
Having been around since 2021 and beginning by organising concerts across Zurich, the association has its finger on the pulse of the Swiss music scene bringing together an eclectic line-up of bands and musicians for the festivals.
As part of the build-up to this year’s festival, I interviewed Kombinat to find out more about the association, their history and their festivals.

Interview with High on the Sound (pt. 1)
Shortly having creating Reverb Dream, I came across High on the Sound - a printed magazine providing a platform to bands across the whole of Switzerland. Every time a new edition is printed, a concert is organised to celebrate its release.
The ninth edition of the magazine will be published on Friday 7th March with a concert at Südpol in Lucerne featuring performances from oze and STRUKTURSTRUKTUR.
I interviewed the team behind the magazine (Mario Scialdone and Lena Eberhard) to find out more about High on the Sound. In the first part of this series, we talk about how High on the Sound started and the magazine itself.

willibald - Crumbs/Y
Last month, willibald released the two singles, Crumbs and Y, their first new music since the excellent album, le roi est mort. The songs, which were recorded and mixed by Remo Agovic, showcase the band’s evolution whilst retaining their distinct musical identity.
To find out more about the songs, I interviewed two members of the band, bassist, Charli Grögli, and guitarist, Naemi Zurbrügg.

Tell us about the music scene in… Lucerne
For this edition of “Tell us about the music scene in…”, Mario Scialdone will be giving us an insight into one of Switzerland’s most popular cities, Lucerne.
Mario has been heavily involved in the music scene in Switzerland over the last few years and, next to his band, Sneila, he is the founder of High on the Sound magazine. The magazine will be celebrating its ninth publication at Südpol on 9th March with oze and StrukturStruktur performing live too.

Tell us about the music scene in… Fribourg
In this edition of “Tell us about the music scene in…”, we are discovering more about Fribourg with David Sallin (left in photo). The bassist from Nostalgie Plage has currently been active on the music scene for over the last 15 years in the town and canton of Fribourg.

Interview with Orso
In November 2024, the Lausanne-based band, Orso served up the third course of their Italian gastronomic-themed records with Caffè.
Although, the concepts to the albums are playful, Orso’s instrumental songs are brooding and captivating at the same time, pulling the listener in and keeping their attention.
For the first interview of 2025, Raul, one of the three guitarists, and Thomas, the drummer, tell me more about the band’s history, releases and their passion about coffee.

2024 - Year in review (part 1)
Happy new year!
In this three part series I will be reviewing and remembering 2024.
Find out more about the beginning of the blog and the first interviews.

Interview with Mount Jacinto
Mount Jacinto’s first album, Silver Lining, will be released this Friday, 29th November, and a concert to celebrate the occasion will take the following day at the Waxy Bar in Zurich.
Having been a fan of the Outward Signs EP and the first two singles from the album, I wanted to know more about the project from Sonya Carmona.
In this interview, she takes the time to tell me about her fascinating musical background, the project and the new album.

Interview with Nostalgie Plage
Nostalgie Plage’s (English translation: nostalgia beach) unique sound is the result of five musicians, who have been very active in the music scene in Fribourg, wanting to form a collaborative project and mix their diverse influences to create their own genre which they jokingly call, “post-Rock, bossa nova, mathcore, dance punk”.
Drummer, Valentin Descloux, tells us more about the band’s origins, the story behind their excellent album, Plaisirs et Discipline, and how they have over 200 song names for songs which don’t exist yet.

Interview with Mount Kōya
I first discovered Mount Kōya through my interview “Tell us about the music scene in Vevey” and was hooked straight away by their psychedelic style and concept albums. The band released their fourth album, Teien, on Friday and I wanted to know more about the band.
The drummer, Kevin Ruffieux, and bassist, Aria Konishi, took the time to answer my questions and provide details about the band’s history, the recording of Teien and about their record release party on Saturday 16th November at Espace ContreContre in St-Maurice (in collaboration with Foucoupe).
