Alles Post- MusikFest!: Introducing the stands

This year’s Alles Post- MusikFest! is rapidly approaching with the festival taking place at Dynamo/Werk 21 in Zurich on 30th May (tickets). We are very excited about the line-up which features Darius, Penkowski, wolfer and Ponys. Earlier in April, I published an interview with Jérôme Bizien who made the wonderful flyers.

We also can’t wait to introduce the more interactive part of the festival. This year, we will be hosting stands from High on the Sound magazine from Lucerne, Table Basse Records all the way from Lausanne and Monobuster Records from the valleys in the Schwyz. You may already recognise the names as they have all been interviewed for the blog - if you want to find out more about them - check out the related links at the bottom of the article.

One of our ideas was to build on the idea of community. Sometimes going to show, it’s nice to be able to have the time to talk with others who also enjoy the same bands. We aim that if everything goes to plan - we would have an hour and a half between the opening of the doors and the first concert. We have also planned in a half hour break after the second concert (instead of a regular 15 minute break).

We are delighted to have the trio at the festival and we hope it adds to the interaction. It will allow festival goers to find out more about the music scene in Switzerland, to make connections and even support the music scene too.

In this article, I have asked High on the Sound magazine, Table Basse Records and Monobuster to tell us a bit about what they would bring to Alles Post- MusikFest!

What are you looking forward to most about Alles Post?

What I’m looking forward to most is the exchange with other independent publishers, artists, and visitors. I think the stand format is especially valuable because it creates a more direct contact between the audience and independent, underground culture. It opens up a space for conversation, discovery, and encounter beyond the concert itself. In a moment when so many independent spaces are disappearing, these kinds of formats feel especially meaningful. I’m also really excited about the line-up, which makes the whole festival feel like a rich and inspiring context to be part of. I am also very much looking forward to the concerts, it’s a wonderful line-up.

What would you be bringing to the festival?

I’ll be bringing a wide selection of High on the Sound magazines, including both recent issues and older editions, so in a way it will also function as a kind of retrospective of the magazine. All editions are limited, which makes it a special opportunity to discover or collect them. I’ll also bring other merch such as T-shirts, posters, and more. On a personal level, I’m bringing curiosity, openness, and a strong belief in the importance of independent cultural spaces and DIY work. For me, being there is also about supporting scenes and practices that exist outside mainstream cultural structures.

What would you like to say to those thinking about visiting your stand?

Come by and say hi. Whether you already know High on the Sound or are discovering it for the first time, you’re very welcome. There will be a wild selection of magazines, from newer issues to older editions, alongside other merch, so it’s a great opportunity to browse through the world of the magazine and maybe find something special. Since all editions are limited, don’t miss out. Stop by to discover, exchange, and connect.

Anything else you would like to add?

Right now, it feels especially important more than ever to care for and support indie and underground scenes in a real way, by going to live shows, meeting people, buying publications or merch, and engaging beyond fast online consumption. There are so many amazing indie and underground projects out there that deserve to be discovered and supported. Events like Alles Post- MusikFest! help create the kind of visibility, exchange, and community that independent culture urgently needs.
