willibald - Crumbs/Y
Last month, willibald released the two singles, Crumbs and Y, their first new music since the excellent album, le roi est mort. The songs, which were recorded and mixed by Remo Agovic, showcase the band’s evolution whilst retaining their distinct musical identity.
To find out more about the songs, I interviewed two members of the band, bassist, Charli Grögli, and guitarist, Naemi Zurbrügg.
Tell us about the music scene in… Lucerne
For this edition of “Tell us about the music scene in…”, Mario Scialdone will be giving us an insight into one of Switzerland’s most popular cities, Lucerne.
Mario has been heavily involved in the music scene in Switzerland over the last few years and, next to his band, Sneila, he is the founder of High on the Sound magazine. The magazine will be celebrating its ninth publication at Südpol on 9th March with oze and StrukturStruktur performing live too.
Tell us about the music scene in… Fribourg
In this edition of “Tell us about the music scene in…”, we are discovering more about Fribourg with David Sallin (left in photo). The bassist from Nostalgie Plage has currently been active on the music scene for over the last 15 years in the town and canton of Fribourg.

Interview with Orso
In November 2024, the Lausanne-based band, Orso served up the third course of their Italian gastronomic-themed records with Caffè.
Although, the concepts to the albums are playful, Orso’s instrumental songs are brooding and captivating at the same time, pulling the listener in and keeping their attention.

Interview with Mount Jacinto

Interview with Nostalgie Plage
Nostalgie Plage’s (English translation: nostalgia beach) unique sound is the result of five musicians, who have been very active in the music scene in Fribourg, wanting to form a collaborative project and mix their diverse influences to create their own genre which they jokingly call, “post-Rock, bossa nova, mathcore, dance punk”.
Drummer, Valentin Descloux, tells us more about the band’s origins, the story behind their excellent album, Plaisirs et Discipline, and how they have over 200 song names for songs which don’t exist yet.
Interview with Mount Kōya
I first discovered Mount Kōya through my interview “Tell us about the music scene in Vevey” and was hooked straight away by their psychedelic style and concept albums. The band released their fourth album, Teien, on Friday and I wanted to know more about the band.
The drummer, Kevin Ruffieux, and bassist, Aria Konishi, took the time to answer my questions and provide details about the band’s history, the recording of Teien and about their record release party on Saturday 16th November at Espace ContreContre in St-Maurice (in collaboration with Foucoupe).

On 23rd November 2024, the team behind the Alles Post- MusikFest! music festivals will be branching out and hosting more concerts. The first of these events is a Joy Division Tribute Evening at the X-TRA Musikcafe in Zurich with four bands from the region on the line-up (including a surprise), a DJ and a record market.

The Blue Giant evening part 2: Snarf / Mohon
As a follow-up to Echolot's ten year anniversary concert at Filter 4 in Basel on 26th October - I interview Jonathan Ruf, formerly of Snarf. During the evening, Echolot will perform Snarf's The Blue Giant in its entirety. I wanted to know more about his thoughts on the evening and about his participation too.
In the second part of the article, Reverb Dream has the privilege of premiering the first single, Friction, from Renato Matteucci's new solo project, Mohon. The album, RiseX, which will be released soon, sees Renato move in a more 1970s-inspired prog rock direction.

Interview with Walter Frosch
Mike Saxer and Rune Dahl Hansen have been particularly active over the last few years on the music scene in Switzerland, notably with Walter Frosch and YC-CY.
Having written and recorded so much music together (as well as separately and for other projects), it was interesting to know more about their story, how they juggle(d) the two projects and how they create music.

Interview with Foucoupe
Whilst looking for live sessions of bands, Foucoupe, have produced a lot of quality videos set in unique locations and they have always been a pleasure to watch.
The association started off with small, intimate concerts in 2019 before moving into video production. And now in their fifth year, they will be celebrating this milestone in Monthey (from 1st until 3rd November).

Interview with Echolot
